Thoughts for Thursday: Austin Teen Book Festival!

It's been a while since the last Thoughts for Thursday... so I wanted to stop in and talk about something that is exciting me very very much.
The Austin Teen Book Festival is going to be here September 29th. I am way excited and it looks like there will be a good amount of authors. I haven't a bunch that are on the list yet, but they are on my TBR. am going to take a few Thursdays and take some time to get to know the authors that will be visiting Austin.

If you live near Austin, you should join the fun.  I have gone the last couple of years and have really enjoyed the books, the panels, the signings, the special themes, lots of fun!

So first off the list, some authors I can't wait to read for the first time!

Anna Banks -  She is the author of Of Posidion, This is her debut book and I have not read it but I have heard many wonderful things about the book.... It has been on my TRB list for a while and yesterday I ordered it! YAY!!!

Anna's info Goodreads/Blog

Of Poseidon (Of Poseidon, #1)Galen is the prince of the Syrena, sent to land to find a girl he's heard can communicate with fish. Emma is on vacation at the beach. When she runs into Galen — literally, ouch! — both teens sense a connection. But it will take several encounters, including a deadly one with a shark, for Galen to be convinced of Emma's gifts. Now, if he can only convince Emma that she holds the key to his kingdom . . .

Told from both Emma and Galen's points of view, here is a fish-out-of-water story that sparkles with intrigue, humor, and waves of romance.

There is also a .5 out.... Legacy Lost

Legacy Lost (Of Poseidon, #0.5)He is a mer-prince, she is the mermaid princess that his family orders him to marry so that their kingdoms unite. Grom dreads this arrangement, until he meets Nalia — both beautiful and smart, she's everything he ever wanted. But just when their connection grows deeper, tragedy strikes. Legacy Lost is a prequel story to Anna Banks' debut novel, OF POSEIDON.

Next up is Eliot Schrefer

I am not familiar with this author but his books sound very interesting. Myster/Thrillers. Right up my Alley... I am thinking of ordering The Deadly Sister for my first Eliot book.

Eliot's Info

His newest book is called Endangered

Endangered

The compelling tale of a girl who must save a group of bonobos--and herself--from a violent coup.
The Congo is a dangerous place, even for people who are trying to do good.
When one girl has to follow her mother to her sancuary for bonobos, she's not thrilled to be there. It's her mother's passion, and she'd rather have nothing to do with it. But when revolution breaks out and their sanctuary is attacked, she must rescue the bonobos and hide in the jungle. Together, they will fight to keep safe, to eat, and to survive.
Eliot Schrefer asks readers what safety means, how one sacrifices to help others, and what it means to be human in this new compelling adventure.

The School For Dangerous GirlsGirl, Interrupted . . . as written by V. C. Andrews.

Angela's parents think she's on the road to ruin because she's dating a "bad boy." After her behavior gets too much for them, they ship her off to Hidden Oak. Isolated and isolating, Hidden Oak promises to rehabilitate "dangerous girls." But as Angela gets drawn in further and further, she discovers that recovery is only on the agenda for the "better" girls. The other girls -- designated as "the purple thread" -- will instead be manipulated to become more and more dangerous . . . and more and more reliant on Hidden Oak's care.

The Deadly Sister

From the author of School for Dangerous Girls, another suspenseful stunner about a girl who helps her sister escape from a murder charge - and then falls for the murder victim's brother.

Abby Goodwin is sure her sister Maya isn't a murderer. But her parents don't agree. Her friends don't agree. And the cops definitely don't agree. Maya is a drop-out, a stoner, a girl who's obsessed with her tutor, Jefferson Andrews...until he ends up dead. Maya runs away, and leaves Abby following the trail of clues. Each piece of evidence points to Maya, but it also appears that Jefferson had secrets of his own. And enemies. Like his brother, who Abby becomes involved with...until he falls under suspicion.
Is Abby getting closer to finding the true murderer? Or is someone leading her down a twisted false path?

One more for the week....

Jessica Shirvington - her debut album was Embrace, and it is another I have not had the pleasure of reading bit it's on my list... I also bought this one yesterday. Woohoo.

Jessicas's info Goodreads/ Website

Embrace (The Violet Eden Chapters, #1)It starts with a whisper: "It's time for you to know who you are..."

On her 17th birthday, everything will change for Violet Eden. The boy she loves will betray her. Her enemy will save her. She will have to decide just how much she's willing to sacrifice.
Dangerously exciting and darkly romantic, EMBRACE is a compelling novel of good and evil, seductive desires and impossible choices. A centuries old war between fallen angels and the protectors of humanity chooses a new fighter. It's a battle Violet doesn't want, but she lives her life by two rules: don't run and don't quit. If angels seek vengeance and humans are the warriors, you could do a lot worse than betting on Violet Eden.
LINCOLN: He's been Violet's one anchor, her running partner and kickboxing trainer. Only he never told her he's Grigori--part human, part angel--and that he was training her for an ancient battle between Angels and Exiles.
PHOENIX: No one knows where his loyalties lie, yet he's the only one there to pick up the pieces and protect her after Lincoln's lies. In a world of dark and light, he is all shades of gray.
Two sides: Angel or Exile.
Two guys: Lincoln or Phoenix.
The wrong choice could cost not only her life, but her eternity...
